Woman injured in Brohm Lake

August 7, 2019 12:29pm

A woman has suffered injuries after a fall from rocks in Brohm Lake.

The incident happened on August 6, 2019 at approximately 7:30pm. Squamish RCMP said the woman fell approximately 20 meters.

She was climbing the rocks to find a better spot to jump into water.

Squamish RCMP working alongside Squamish Search and Rescue, Squamish Fire and BC Ambulance Service were able to rescue the female and transport her to the hospital. She is being assessed for possible back injury.

With so much opportunity to explore in our corridor, one’s own safety must be at the forefront of everyone’s minds, said Cst. Ashley MacKay “We encourage everyone to explore this beautiful corridor but also remembering to do so safely and responsibly.

On August 4, a local died after a fall from the Squamish Chief. The incident happened around 11:30 am. The 33-year-old man reportedly fell from the Angel’s Crest portion of the north face.

Squamish RCMP, Squamish Search and Rescue, and Squamish BC Ambulance attended to the location and found the climber 200-300 metres up from the face.

Squamish RCMP encourages those who seek adventure in the corridor to download the AdventureSmart app. BC AdventureSmart believes that your investment in trip safety can mean the difference between a successful outcome and becoming a statistic.
