The Oceanfront Park will be closed to vehicles this long weekend to mitigate the influx of visitors.

The gate to the Oceanfront Park will be closed to restrict vehicle access from Thursday, April 9 to Monday, April 13.

Kristen Gauley of Matthews West team said any vehicles parked outside of the gate along the access road will be towed.

“In order to keep this amenity open and accessible to locals and visitors alike, we must act appropriately and within the guidance set out by the province of British Columbia,” she said.

“We must be diligent about our actions to ensure we keep our community safe. Squamish must work together to limit the spread of COVID-19.”
