Despite several appeals by Squamish RCMP, people are still trying to access the Squamish Valley area.

Squamish RCMP says ‘loads’ of people are still trying to access the area.

“We have said this multiple times and it remains the same. Paradise Valley and Squamish Valley is CLOSED!,” the Squamish RCMP said in a tweet.

Only local and essential traffic is allowed at this point. There is a security checkpoint at the 12-kilometre mark of the Squamish Valley Road, and no unauthorized vehicles will be allowed past this point.

“No no no access to Evans/Levette Lake. We are seeing loads of people coming up,” Squamish RCMP said.

Squamish RCMP said they are trying to keep the Evacuation Orders in effect and protect fire teams, and keep everyone safe during the wildfire.

Clearly there are people that do not know about the evacuation order and the fire. Curiously is that many are seeing this through the lens of the SARScov-2 issue and are outraged for the wrong reasons.
