District of Squamish has received an application for a mixed-use industrial and residential building in the business park.

The applicant is proposing the building in the business park at 39541 Queens Way.

The proposed development will consists of 37 ground-level light industrial units and 108 residential units above.

The proponent is also asking the district for a one-metre height variance.

The height variance is required to maintain suitable ceiling heights for the industrial unit mezzanines, and to provide rooftop access for the residential amenity and outdoor space.

The application is under review by the district.

The district has also received an application to operate an Office Minor business at 38936 Queens Way.

The zoning, however, does not permit “Office Minor” use as a primary use under the zoning. The district has started the file for the permit and will start notifying the public.

Another proponent on Queens Way is proposing a 20,000 square foot industrial building with eight units.
