Weather alert issued for Howe Sound

Staff report
August 15, 2020 2:04pm

Environment Canada has issued a special weather advisory for Howe Sound.

There will be a brief hot spell as ridge of high pressure builds over southern BC this weekend.

Temperatures will peak on Sunday and then gradually decline as the week progresses.

Sunday will be the hottest day with daily maximum temperatures reaching the mid-30s, particularly in Howe Sound and the eastern Fraser Valley.

Overnight temperatures will be in the high teens.

Temperatures on Monday will remain high, although weak inflow from the Pacific Ocean will prevent temperatures from the highs expected on Sunday.

Environment Canada may issue a heat warning on Monday. To report severe weather, send an email to BCstorm@canada.ca or tweet reports using #BCStorm.
