Mentally distressed man in downtown taken to hospital

A mentally distraught man who was kicking and throwing things on Cleveland Avenue was taken to the Squamish General Hospital by the RCMP.

The incident happened on August 20, when the Squamish RCMP were called to the 38000 block of Cleveland Avenue.

The police were called about a man who was causing disturbance by throwing items around and kicking things in the street.

The man had also called police saying that he was hearing voices.

The individual appeared to be in mental distress and was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and transported to the Squamish General Hospital.

Stolen vehicle recovered

On August 18, the Squamish RCMP received a report from a vehicle owner, who said that their stolen vehicle was seen in the 38000 block of Production Way.

The police retrieved the stolen vehicle, but the driver had fled the scene before police arrived on the scene.

The police have seized the vehicle and a forensic examination has been completed. This files are still under investigation.
