Squamish RCMP seek info after 25 trees damaged in Garibaldi Highlands

Staff report
May 18, 2021 3:16pm

Squamish RCMP are looking for information leading to suspects after trees on district property were damaged in Garibaldi Highlands.

On May 18, Squamish RCMP began an investigation into damage of about 25 trees on District of Squamish property along Glacier View Drive, near the dog park on the street.

District estimate it will cost about $10,000 to $20,000 to remove the trees and do slope reinforcement.

“The persons who did this had some type of motive we need to resolve, and our investigators are working with our local partners to determine what happened,” says Cpl. Damien Maile of Squamish RCMP.

Squamish RCMP asks anyone with any information regarding this to contact the Squamish RCMP at 604-892-6100, or, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS, or go to www.solvecrime.ca
