Second Avenue to be closed tomorrow

Staff report
May 24, 2021 5:10pm

District of Squamish will be closing Second Avenue tomorrow for construction.

Second Ave will be closed to traffic Tues, May 25 from 7 a.m. to approximately 5 pm.

Second Avenue will also be closed part of the day on Wed, May 26, and there will be intermittent single-lane alternating traffic on Victoria Street.

Advanced detour signs will be in place to detour traffic via Third Ave and/or Cleveland Ave.

The District of Squamish is also seeking community feedback on traffic calming and active transportation measures to address speed and safety concerns in the Highlands Way North/ Perth Drive area in Garibaldi Highlands.

The survey invites residents to weigh in on four traffic calming options for Highlands Way North and details the pros and cons of each, and includes a longer-term concept and vision for Perth Drive.

Residents are encouraged to submit feedback by participating in an online survey through May 31 at  squamish.ca/highlands-way-north.
