Man seriously injured in bear attack at worksite near Prince George

The Conservation Officer Service is investigating a black bear attack north of Prince George that left one man with serious but non life-threatening injuries.

The attack took place shortly after 10 p.m. Monday, at a remote work camp site.

The victim was a worker at the site. The bear was subsequently killed by another worker after the attack.

The victim received medical treatment on-site and has been transported to hospital in Prince George.

All remaining camp employees have left the area.

Conservation Officers will be conducting a forensic investigation of attack site and ensure that there is no ongoing safety risk.
