A Jaguar driver going at 176 km/hr in a 90-kilometre zone on Highway 99 had the luxury car  impounded by the Squamish RCMP.

The jaguar was second car in the past two weeks the Squamish RCMP has impounded for seven days on Highway 99 at the Tantalus Lookout.

Both drivers also received hefty fines for speeding.

While the Jaguar was going at 176 km/hr, the second car was travelling at 138 km/hr in a 90 km zone.

BC RCMP is reminding motorists that the lifting of the travel restrictions in BC is not a licence to disregard road rules.

BC Highway Patrol will be out in force enforcing offences which cause serious injury and fatal collisions: speeding, distracted driving, impaired driving, lack of restraints and other high risk driving behaviours.

“Our officers work hard to keep our highways safe, but we need people to drive with care so that we can make our highways safer together,” said Superintendent Holly Turton, Officer in Charge of BC Highway Patrol.

Crush the car in front of the loser that was speeding. In addition to the fines, tickets, points, put them in jail for a month.
