A GoFundMe page has been set up for the family of Alex Reyes, a local 17-year-old youth who died in a crash on Highway 99 on June 28.
“Sadly on the night of June 28th we lost a beautiful young Son, Brother, and cherished friend in a tragic car accident. His family is very devastated by this terrible news. He left us much too soon. He was a bright, joyful young man with a heart of Gold,” says Arely Diaz, the organizer.
“During this difficult time, our beloved friends need all the community support emotionally and economically .On behalf of the family we thank you for your support.”
Alex Reyes lost his life in collision between two cars on Highway 99 on June 28.
The accident happened at about 10:45 pm north of Alice Lake.
Squamish RCMP said the initial police investigation indicated the collision had taken place between a car with three Squamish youths and a van with one occupant.
Squamish RCMP are working with the Integrated Collision and Reconstruction Service to investigate.
