Police investigating theft from vehicles in Downtown, Garibaldi Estates

Staff report
July 23, 2021 12:13pm

Squamish RCMP are investigating two separate incidents of theft from vehicles.

On July 19, Squamish RCMP investigated a theft from a vehicle in the 38300 block of Summits View Drive in Downtown Squamish.

Suspects stole two knives, about $30 in loose change, and a pair of headphones.

On July 19, Squamish RCMP also investigated a theft from car and subsequent fraud.  A car owner had their wallet and contents stolen from the car parked in the 2100 block of Read Cr.

Thieves used the stolen bank card to make fraudulent purchases at a local gas station.

The card owner has cancelled the bank cards. This week police also investigated three catalytic converter thefts from cars in Squamish.

Unfortunately, their will come a time in this town that these reports of thefts & violations on others within the community will be a thing of the past, not because they’ve stopped more than they’ll be happening too frequent to report. Every one who lives here needs to wake up to what’s coming or suffer the consequences.
