One dead in Sea to Sky Highway collision

One person has died after a collision on the Sea to Sky Highway near Shannon Falls yesterday evening.

Sarah Morris of BC Emergency Health Services said one patient was transported to hospital in grave condition last evening.

Squamish RCMP has now confirmed that the person has died.

“The driver of one of the vehicles succumbed to their injuries later last night,” said Sgt. Sascha Banks of Squamish RCMP.

Morris said BC Emergency Health Services received a call at 7:10 pm last night for a serious motor vehicle incident involving two vehicles on the Sea-to-Sky Highway around Shannon Falls.

Multiple ground ambulance crews attended the scene as well as an air ambulance helicopter was also pressed into service.

The collision happened in the north-bound lanes of the highway near Shannon Falls.
