The District of Squamish crews will be installing cameras at the Squamish Adventure Centre this month.
In February last year, miscreants smashed five exterior windows at the Centre. The vandalism cost the district $10,000.
The building also has had issues with loiterers for the last few years.
The camera footage would be monitored by a third party and the RCMP would be alerted if suspicious activity is observed.
“Having video coverage of the building will reduce the risk of damage and allow the RCMP to react quickly when there is an incident and use recorded footage for investigation purposes,” says district staff.
The Centre will also get new washroom counters by the end of this year.
The staff has also ordered new cameras to be installed in Council chambers.
