Squamish RCMP have arrested one person for stealing from the local COVID-vaccination clinic, and also seized weapons from the suspect. On January 29, Squamish RCMP received a report from Sea to Sky Hotel staff regarding a theft that has occurred in a the vaccination clinic room.
After quick alert by the hotel staff, Squamish RCMP officers were able to arrest the person who had allegedly broken into the room and stole under $5,000 worth of items.
Police didn’t specify which items were stolen.
Officers also found a loaded M&P .45 gun, and a large amount of shotgun ammunition inside the suspect’s vehicle, which have been seized by the police. The person could not produce a firearms licence, police say.
On January 29, Squamish RCMP also responded to a break-and-enter in the 1000 block of Enterprise Place. Squamish RCMP say personal documents were stolen. Anyone with information is asked to call the Squamish RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
