North Vancouver RCMP are seeking public assistance to identify a suspect in an assault that occurred on W Esplanade on July 18, 2022, just after 5 pm.

Police say one person was riding a skateboard when he was accosted by a man who had been walking on the sidewalk.

The suspect, who is described as older, having white hair, and wearing glasses, claimed the skateboarder had almost struck him when riding past, and appeared upset about this.

During the ensuing exchange, the man is alleged to have assaulted the skateboarder.

The suspect is described as:

An older lighter skinned man

Approximately 6 feet tall

Wore glasses

Shoulder length grey hair and a long grey moustache

In an effort to further the investigation, RCMP are releasing photos of the suspect.

Anyone who believes they know the pictured person’s identity is asked to contact North Vancouver RCMP at (604) 985-1311 and quote file number 2022-17736.

“We also are encouraging the person who was involved in the incident to identify himself,” said Corporal Melissa Jongema.
