Police seek help after excavator stolen from North Vancouver site

North Vancouver RCMP are asking for the public’s assistance in locating an excavator stolen from a construction site located in 600 block of E 6th St North Vancouver.

On December 15th the owner of a 2018 John Deere 50G excavator called police to report his equipment (pictured) was stolen from the construction site. Witnesses observed the night before at approximately 10:30 pm the excavator being loaded onto a flatbed and the thief’s travelling eastbound in the laneway.

The excavator is worth $ 50,000 and it is the third stolen excavator for the property owner in 4 years.

The North Vancouver RCMP is asking for the public’s assistance in providing any information relating to this theft, specifically any CCTV, dash cam from the area or witnesses that may have observed the incident.  said Cst. Mansoor SAHAK of the North Vancouver RCMP. Someone may have observed this incident, not realizing that a theft was occurring.

If you observed anything that may assist the police, or know the whereabouts of the excavator, you are asked to call the North Vancouver RCMP at 604-985-1311 and quote file # 22-30678. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).

    At 10:30PM ???
    Anyone observing anything happening around that time of the night and not realizing it is being a theft in progress???
