District alerts about bear den and cubs close to Mount Crumpit trails. The District of Squamish is informing the community about an active bear situation.

The Conservation Officer Service has confirmed an active bear den with cubs very close to trails in the Mount Crumpit area. For the safety of the bear family and your own, please avoid using the trails in this area.

“Always be cautious while using recreational trails, as bears can still be active in dens. Always keep dogs on leash while recreating in bear country,” District says. Please call the Conservation Officer’s 24-hour hotline at 1.877.952.7277 to report all sightings and encounters.
