Squamish residents invited to second round of “Pints and Possibilities”

A grassroots community initiative is returning to Squamish this week, inviting residents to meet face-to-face, share concerns, and work toward local solutions over a pint.

The second “Pints and Possibilities” gathering will take place on Thursday, April 23, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Westwinds Seniors Hub on Third Avenue. The event follows a well-attended first session organized by Sean Easton in March this year, something that the organizer says exceeded his expectations in both turnout and energy.

“This started as an experiment, and we were really encouraged by how many people showed up ready to listen, share, and contribute,” said co-organizers Lizi and Sean. “The next step is to build on that energy and begin working together on the issues that matter most.”

Topics at the first session ranged from housing affordability and youth opportunities to access to community spaces and strengthening local connections. Thursday’s gathering aims to move those conversations forward, helping residents identify shared priorities and explore concrete ways to get involved in community-led initiatives.

Organizers describe the format as intentionally informal — a deliberate counterpoint to the online discussions that often dominate civic life. “We wanted to create a space where concerns can be shared openly and where people can take meaningful next steps together,” they said.

The event is open to all residents, with a suggested $10 contribution toward food and refreshments. Attendees are encouraged to bring a neighbour or friend. An RSVP is requested online to assist with planning.

Sounds like a fun event. Are there any local breweries involved this time?
