Downtown Squamish will host the fourth annual Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together celebration on Canada Day, offering a free, family-friendly event in Junction Park and along Cleveland Avenue between Victoria Street and Main Street.

The event runs Wednesday, July 1, from 8:45 a.m. to 6 p.m., and includes live entertainment, cultural performances, family activities, local food vendors, and the X̱ex̱e7énaḵ Creators Together Market, according to a news release.

Highlights include live performances on the O’Siyam Pavilion Stage, morning yoga and meditation, dance lessons, a Community Village, food trucks, and a Trickster Hideout Beer Garden for guests 19 and older.

Thanks to funding through the Government of Canada’s Celebrate Canada Program, FIFA-inspired soccer activities hosted by Squamish United Football Club will also be available in Stan Clarke Park, with skill challenges and family games for all ages, according to a news release.

“Canada Day is an opportunity to come together as a community, celebrate our shared home, and recognize the many cultures, histories, and contributions that shape Squamish,” said Kerry Neil, executive director of Downtown Squamish. “Sk̲wx̲wú7mesh Squamish Together reflects the spirit of connection, inclusion, and community pride that makes our community so special.”

Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, or take transit. Complimentary bike valet service will be available through OurSquamish Placemaking Society, and accessible parking can be found on the south side of Winnipeg Street and at Stan Clarke Park, according to the news release.

The event is supported by Canadian Heritage’s Celebrate Canada Program, the District of Squamish, and Tourism Squamish, among other sponsors and community partners. For the full schedule and event updates, visit downtownsquamish.com or follow @downtownsquamish on social media.
