Sea to Sky RCMP is investigating two fires in Lions Bay that broke out within minutes of each other on the morning of July 19 and are believed to be connected.
According to the news release, the Sea to Sky RCMP Squamish Detachment received a request for attendance from the Lions Bay Fire Department just after 4:00 a.m. on July 19, 2026, for a residence fully engulfed in flames on Kelvin Grove Way. Shortly after, according to the news release, police were notified of a vehicle on fire at Ocean Point Drive. There were no reported injuries at the time of police attendance, according to the news release.
The fires are believed to be related and are considered suspicious at this time. The Sea to Sky RCMP General Investigation Section has taken conduct of the investigation and is working with the Lions Bay Fire Department and the BC Office of the Fire Commissioner to determine the cause of the fires.
