Former councillor Meg Fellowes has entrusted the Squamish Community Foundation to establish a music fund to promote music education in the community.

The community association still exists and unless it is taken over by new leadership, it will be dismantled. If no one comes forward by March 31, BOATA will cease to exist.

A 40-year old local man has been charged by the local RCMP for robberies in downtown Squamish. The man remains in custody and his first court appearance is in North Vancouver court at the end of February. His name won't be released until then, police said.

Developer Bob Cheema said he will put the fencing around his land in Garibaldi Highlands on hold after talking to representatives of Squamish Off-Road Cycling Association (SORCA).

The Squamish Street Market is setting up shop over three blocks and two parks in the heart of downtown Squamish for four Sundays, once a month from June to September 2018.

District of Squamish officials are asking the council to initiate legal action on a homeowner who had been illegally growing marijuana in a home in Brackendale.

Squamish RCMP is notifying the public to be aware that the speed limit in schools zones is 30 km/h, following a large number of infractions noted by the police recently.  

A local trail group is calling upon land managers from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, and Natural Resource operations to act promptly to ensure illegal camping and dumping sites are thoroughly removed and remediated.

The Squamish Arts Council has opened grant applications for the Community Arts & Culture Enhancement Grant. The application deadline is March 7, 2018.
