Mayor Karen Elliott said municipalities, by legislation, have limited means of raising funds. “We need help from the province to identify additional funds beyond what we are able to contribute to fund transit service across a large rural area,” she said.

On Thursday, May 30, 2019 at approximately 3:15 PM, Whistler and Squamish RCMP and Emergency Services attended the scene of a fatal motorcycle collision on Highway 99, north of the Conroy Forest Service Road, about 20 kilometres south of Whistler, BC.

The cause of the collision remains under investigation by Sea to Sky Traffic Services and the Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) and nothing has been ruled out.

West Vancouver businesswoman, Gabrielle Loren, has won the nomination for Conservative party MP candidate for the West Vancouver-Sunshine Coast-Sea to Sky Country.

Police say the driver was a novice and officers found evidence that the vehicle had been impounded previously for the same offence.
